Terms & conditions
The small print, in plain English
These terms apply when you use this website or engage Less Faff VA for support. Please read them before we start work together — and if anything isn't clear, get in touch and we'll talk it through. As with our privacy page, please have a legal adviser check this against how you actually work before launch.
Using this website
The information on this website is provided for general guidance about our services. We take care to keep it accurate and up to date, but you shouldn't rely on it as advice for your own situation. Please use the site lawfully, don't try to interfere with how it works, and keep any account details you use here safe.
Enquiries
Sending us an enquiry doesn't create a contract between us. It simply starts a conversation: we'll come back to you, find out what you need, and suggest how we can help. Nothing is booked or started until the scope of work, the fee and the timing are agreed between us in writing.
Our services
We provide business administration, marketing and website support, and book-keeping assistance as described on our Services and Ways to Work Together pages. We work to the standard you'd reasonably expect, and we'll always tell you if something falls outside what we can help with rather than guessing.
We aren't a regulated tax adviser, accountant or lawyer. We can help you keep accurate records and get information ready, but filings, tax positions and legal decisions remain with you and your professional advisers.
Fees and payment
Fees are agreed in writing before work begins — whether that's for a package, a project or ad hoc hours — along with when payment is due. We won't bill for anything that wasn't agreed. If a job looks like it will take longer or cost more than expected, we'll tell you before continuing.
Your side of things
To keep work moving, we'll need reasonable access to the tools, files and information the work involves, along with timely answers and approvals. You're responsible for reviewing work that needs your sign-off, and for keeping your own accounts, records and decisions current. If something isn't right, please tell us promptly and we'll put it right.
Confidentiality and ownership
We treat your information, documents and customers as confidential, and we expect the same in return. Anything you give us stays yours. Where we create materials for you, ownership is agreed as part of the work — usually passing to you once it's paid for. We won't use your name, logo or results in our marketing without your permission.
Third-party tools and websites
We often work inside tools you already use, and this website may link to other sites we don't control. We're not responsible for the availability, terms or conduct of those third parties.
Responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't lawfully be limited. Subject to that, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for the services we provide to you is limited to the fees you've paid for the work in question.
Ending the engagement
Either of us can end the working relationship with reasonable notice. Any agreed work in progress is completed or handed over, and anything already done is paid for.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here applies when you use the website or agree work with us, so it's worth checking back.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
